Samsung Mobiles president J K Shin has announced that company will release the 4G tablets later this year.
The new tablet will be an enhanced version of Samsung's Galaxy Tab models, Mr. Shin said, without providing further details. The 10.1 version of the Galaxy Tab is supposed to have more features (apart from the obvious bigger screen) and while the 8.9 inch version has been priced at $499, the 10.1-incher will cost $599. Both will be running on the Android for tablets aka Honeycomb and sporting a faster processor and a 2 megapixel front facing camera.
Mr. Shin also said he expects smartphone shipments this year to meet the company's earlier guidance of 60 million units.
